APODIFORMES: Apodidae
Apus pacificus
I had seen Fork-Tailed Swifts on two occasions previously, on both occasions without a camera. On the last occasion I was at a petrol pump filling up my diesel 4x4 and there they were, filling the sky. By the time I had filled up, paid for my fuel, shifted the car and got my camera out, they were no where to be seen.
But here I am today with several thousand Fork-tailed Swifts flying all around me and my camera in my hand and a rather large grin on my face. They are swift by name and by nature and photographing them is a challenge but I managed a few average photos.
